Too big and bulkyDec 05, 2008
By Gary Edwards This carry case for the Garmin Oregon GPS is too big and bulky to use. It looks like it was designed for the Colorado model and they just applied it to the Oregon model. Sure it works, but it is way to tall. It could be an inch shorter. The Oregon mounts inside via an attach strap and velcro which puts it at the far bottom end with an inch of dead space at the top. Also, it is way too thick (2.25"), as it has to be to accomodate that big attach clip and velcro inside. And the attach strap on the outside (velcro) to attach to your pants belt, well it is backwards. To use it, leave the velcro attached and unhook your belt from your pant loops and thread it through the case loop. The case does have a quality carabiner attached and is quality made. And it is made, so when you open the case, when it is on your belt, it opens 90 degrees with support straps so the GPS can be read at belt level without taking it out of the case. I will get a smaller beltloop type soft case like a Caselogic or similar to tot my Oregon with me.

Not sealed, and way too largeMar 04, 2009

This was not made for the Oregon. It has a ludicrous amount of extra space where the Colorado's antenna would fit. It cannot be sealed in any way which is lame because I don't want fine dust getting in and scratching up my screen.
Aside from that though, it's very sturdy feeling. I got it mostly for hiking in wooded areas so I wouldn't destroy it while hiking through brush and it serves that purpose well.
It absorbs physical impact and is also pretty convenient for flip down use if you hook it on to the shoulder strap of your pack. I wish there was a weatherproof option that was an inch shorter but since there is not, this will have to do.

Great carrying case!May 08, 2009

This case fits my Garmin Oregon 400t perfectly. Inside the case there is a latch that attaches the GPS to the case so when you open the case the GPS doesnt fall out. If you hang the case from you backpack strap, or waist belt, you can open the case and operate the GPS easily. The case has a hard shell that protects the GPS from impact or drop. I am not sure, but the nylon seems to be the kind that repels water, but the case doesnt seal hermeticaly, therefore I would avoide moisture. Great case, Henry

Poor stitchingMar 26, 2010
By B. Lee The stitching for the carabiner and belt loop gave out the first time I used it, after about 30 minutes. I got home, opened the case, and the carabiner fell off. It's either a poor design or poor quality control.
Other than that, it's quite a bit larger than it needs to be but I like the basic design.
