 A must have for any HDTV user!May 06, 2011

I can't believe I no one else has left a review on this little gem yet. I will start off by saying that the quality on both my flat screen and CRT has noticeably improved. This cable is the closest thing to a Component (the rgb cable) you will find and works with Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and GameCube. I bought it for my SNES specifically because without opening it up and modding it, there is no way to get a rgb signal to your television. In order of best to worst: Component, S-Video, Composite A/V, and then the RF cable. Like I said before this cable is great if you have a TV with S-Video, which most HDTV'S do nowadays, and want to enjoy a better quality picture on their older game systems. For me this is a must have!

i don't know what the problem was, but this just didn't work for me at all. the S-video connector didn't plug into either of the two TVs i tried, and i ordered directly from amazon and tried exchanging for a replacement that didn't work either. very disappointing.

After purchasing two other s-video cables for my gamecube with no success, I finally ordered this one and IT WORKS! The cable IS cheaply constructed and the connectors are made from cheap plastic. However, the cable functions as it should and the picture definitely looks sharper with the s-video rather than the composite (yellow RCA). The colors are much richer and the overall picture is improved. As long as you don't have this cable in a high traffic area or are constantly plugging and unplugging it, I would highly suggest this cable.

Regardless of the primarily positive reviews this item has gotten the one I received, sold by Amazon themselves, was cheaply made to short, and frayed.
