This Gate is a PushoverMay 06, 2009
By Catty This is not a cheap gate. Obviously, if you are interested in it, you are looking for something that will look nice. The problem is, once you weigh it down or put a chair or other heavy item behind it to keep it from being pushed along on the floor, it looks messy instead. I bought this gate to contain a 3 yr old Havanese weighing under 20 pounds. What we didn't realize is that if your floors are wood, even a small dog can easily push the gate and get around it. We've tried pads under the feet and he was still able to push it. Now we have a chair pushed up against the other side, and the sides of the opening where we had placed the gate are badly scuffed from the gate being pushed. We're fairly dissatisfied with the product, as you may imagine.

Doggie Gate Review - 27" heightAug 23, 2007

I purchased this gate because of it's height and adjustability. It's perfect for my needs. It has kept my Jack Russell puppy contained in the kitchen and now prevents her from climbing the steps. I have found that the style of the gate is perfect for wrapping around my bottom step too. If you have a smart dog, you had better lock the sides because they'll quickly learn that one side of the gate is moveable and break out!

Expensive, but worth itSep 01, 2008
By Marguerite K. Mayhall This was the only barrier that fit in a 47" wide opening, looked good, and is sturdy enough to withstand a jumping poodle puppy. If a pressure mounted gate won't work for you, or you don't want to install hardware in an opening, this is the gate for you.

Dog HouseMay 22, 2010

Have had this gate in the shorter height for years and love it. Smaller dogs can't or won't jump over it, and humans can step over without moving the gate. Now there's a bigger dog in our house so I ordered the taller model. It works just as well, but I don't like the latches on each side. The gate is very stable without the latches, so they serve no real purpose. And they must be pulled free before collapsing the gate, which is 2 extra, but minor, steps. Overall the gate is terrific and I highly recommend for other 'dog houses'. Note: The gate is perfect for doorways with odd angled walls. Just adjust the width and the gate blocks any opening.

I love this gate!Jan 07, 2009
By C. Sawyer We decided to spend the extra money on this gate and Im glad we did! We needed to keep our dogs out of a room that used to have a sliding door and the opening was over 70" wide! We bought the wide one, make sure you get the right size for your doorway. We have beautiful hardwood floors so I didnt want some ugly metal contraption attached to my door way. This gate works great for our dogs! They are kind short though so if you've got tall dogs, it might not work as well. It did want to slide across the floor but we just put some carpet grips on the bottom of the feet and it solved that problem. I definitly recommend this gate for anyone with shorter dogs. We have a bassett and he can not get over it.
