FairingOct 17, 2007
By K. Good The product fit just as described. Personally I think that it seems like a lot of money for a piece of plastic to go in front of a roof rack. It was a present for my teenage nephew, but there is no way I would have spent the money for the item for myself.
Save gas, reduce noise, collect stickersMar 05, 2012
By James M I purchased the Yakima fairing and have now been using it for over one month. It does what it says, saves a few miles per tank on gas and reduces wind noise by about 70% on my Subaru wagon. I think it actually makes the rack look better as well,
Did the Trick on our 2011 MDX SystemAug 13, 2011
By KSMcD Every car is different & every storage system is different, on our new MDX, which already had factory crossbars and roofrails we found we couldn't adjust the stock crossbars to fit our Thule Atlantis 2100 cargo box. So, Bring in the latest Yakima grab rail system for that yearly OBX beach trip and we could now haul our huge luggage carrier, but it BROUGHT ON THE NOISE, even at a crawling 30MPH. You'd think someone was drying their hair in the car, and it just got worse as you climbed up to 45 mph. We had to find a solution stat!
In comes the Yakima Fairing 38", I went on the Yakima website, used their fitment guide and they suggested the 38" fairing, which i originally thought was too small after installing it on the bar, but sure enough, SILENCE!! ZERO noise. Worth every penny!
WonderfulMar 15, 2011
By ][Chance][ If you READ the INSTRUCTIONS that come with the equipment and apply the product as specified, the rack system by Yakima is a dream come true. If you cut corners and don't read and apply as instructed too(I am sure the Thule system will have this problem also), then the idiot that puts it on deserves scratches, stolen, or damaged goods and or equipment. I own this entire system and it is wonderful. If you install the Fairing, you don't need the Windjammer. The Fairing makes a huge difference in gas if you plan on keeping the rack on.It is well worth the 60-70 dollar tag price. Get also a lock housing if you feel like you need it(I don't see reason to lock it down.).

By r_ace27 This product completely eliminated the humming, whistling, and other wind noise from my yakima rack. I'm very impressed and consider it a worthy investment. Looks great as well.
