 Had great potential, but ultimately failedDec 28, 2009

Altec is a good name, which is why I bought this product. At first I was excited by the prospect of the cloth sheathing on the wires, instead of the typical rubber wires found on most earbuds, because of its lesser potential for tangling. Sadly, it is the cloth sheathing that ruins this product. You can literally hear any rubbing or movement of the wire through your earbuds (probably due to sound transmitting through the actual plastic ear pieces) while the ear buds are in your ear, whether your devise is playing or not! This is highly annoying, which is a shame, because as long as you're either standing absolutely still or have the volume way up to drown out the sound of the wires, the sound quality and comfort are great, hence title of this review. I would keep this in mind before purchasing this product.

I bought 2 after trying a friend's. Works as well as BO$# but a FRACTION of the price. I will buy more for gifts! They'll think I've spent a fortune. Also, they were shipped right away. I received these 2 days after I ordered them.
