I bought this hat because it was cheaper than other similar hats. It's just a hat, so there isn't much to say about it :-) The product description does miss covering an elastic headband cinch cord which serves to tighten on your head. I thought this was kind of useless until I wore the hat in some wind, and it proved to be very useful keeping it on my head.
Pros:
Water-resistant fabric
Very light material on top
Chin strap & cinch band keep it on in the wind
Floppy brim helps cover more skin
Cons:
The floppy brim blows up in the wind thus exposing you to the sun. I was paddling against a still headwind for an our and got a nice burn on my forehead where the brim should have been!

I expected more from this hat. First, the XL is not really XL. It runs a bit small and fit me too tightly. I'm sure this will give me a headache after a full day of use. Second, it's *not* khaki, but rather a pea/green color. It's disappointing that Amazon didn't fix this discrepancy or force the vendor to fix it. Another detail not pictured is that the fabric under the brim is a rather strong shade of green. I don't normally care for looks on this kind of equipment, but I really disliked the choice of colors in this particular case.

The hat allows air flow to help keep my head cool. Big brim keeps the sun off my ears, forehead and neck. The soft hat band wicks away sweat quite well. Easily adjusts to size for a comfy fit. Washes with no change in dimensions.

This is my 2nd hat of this type. I was specifically looking to purchase a second hat in the exact same style as my first hat, where the brim is widest in the front and the back. It is my favorite hat of all time; I love it because it does an excellent job of protecting my face from the sun, it's very durable, washes easily, and maintains its shape. I purchased my 1st one at a kiosk at the mall, which is no longer there. I regret not buying a second one when it was available because now I can't find it anywhere. This hat is very similar: same great fabric and durability, except the brim length is equal all around the hat. It's not exactly what I wanted, but it's a close second, especially since my 1st choice is nowhere to be found.

Got this hat at a local Army/Navy surplus store ([...]) and was extremely satisfied with the workmanship and the materials used in the hat. The supplex material is very soft. The boonie hat wears comfortably on my head. I got an XL as I typically where fitted caps between 7 1/2 and 7 5/8.
