THOUGHT I WAS GONNA NEED TO PUT IN A NEW REMOTE STARTER SYSTEM BECAUSE IT WAS OLDER BUT EVERYTHING WENT GREAT. DELIVERY WAS QUICK, FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BACK AND IT COULDN'T HAVE WENT ANY BETTER. VERY PLEASED!!!!

I went to several places to get a replacement electronic starter. They all wanted quite a bit. Finally one place said order one from Amazon and well change the code for you. We did, they changed the code and charged us nothing. It works great just like the one we paid $200.00 for.

The remote was here in a few days after ordering it, and took about 3 minutes to program it. I have had it for almost two months now and it works great. The price was well worth it.

While this product arrived in good time and in good shape, we could not get it programmed to work with our car, despite it's being listed as the replacement transmitter. We called the 800 number and tried everything that we were told to do (including going into the dashboard), but it simply would not match the system that came on our vehicle. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because I believe the fault lay with our system, but the product said it was the replacement (and looks exactly the same); however, since it did not work, amazon paid for the return postage, so it cost us nothing but time and frustration. Another transmitter we got several months ago for a different vehicle worked perfectly, so I would not say not to try this - just know that it may not work for you.

I bought this remote, along with a 477T, based on reports that it would work with a Hornet 554T system. When I received both remotes, the package for the 474T did not indicate you could use it with the 554T system. After some additional research, I found that all replacement remotes with the green activity light and 2^66 codes should work. I tried using the instructions on the back of the package, which indicated programming on channel 1, to program the remote into the system. This only set the remote to single-button mode, so the lock and unlock were on the same button. None of the other buttons did anything. When I located the 554T installation manual on Directed's website, I learned that the correct channel to auto-learn all buttons is channel 8. So, if you pick this one up, just check the install manual for your model of alarm to confirm the right channel to use when learning the remote. All the buttons worked perfectly with the auto-learn, including the remote start. Great buy!
