I was concerned that the magnifying glass was not actual glass but acrylic. I was pleasantly surprised & impressed at the clarity this Magnifying Lamp offers. I was also concerned that it wouldn't be big enough but it seems to be working out just fine. It stays put in most positions & the LED light is great. I like having the choice of using the batteries or plugging it into an outlet - makes it very portable. I use it for making jewelry but it would be great for all kinds of things. Bought one for Mom for changing her hearing aids batteries! I think it's a great buy for the price & would highly recommend it!

Excellent for magnifying small objectsMay 23, 2011

I have been making jewelry and the wire and end clasps are small, but when I purchased this lamp at Amazon I thought it would help in making the wire, beads, and clasps easier to see. I was excited when I plugged in the lamp and started to make necklaces and earrings--the lamp magnified everything so that I could see a whole lot easier. I was able to affix the clasps in no time at all and as small as the beads were, the lamp made them appear larger and it was quicker for me to complete my projects. I would recommend this lamp to anyone who needs to work with small pieces.

For all you "old foggies" who have trouble threading those needles and other tasks that become more challenging as we age. It's a super product that is easy to transport and has a built-in light that really helps out. Price is great considering the product.

My wife and I got this lamp for her mother who is a diabetic with poor vision. The lamp makes it much easier for her to see the amount of insulin she is placing into her syringes before giving herself insulin injections.

Just got this. But really like it so far. It's light weight. The arm is very flexible and stays in place well. The lens is very clear and magnifies well. The unit runs from a power cord or batteries. I'm only using it with the power cord currently. The cord has a box transformer on the outlet end, but it's very small which is great. So, it doesn't block other outlets in my power strip. The cord up to the lamp is very thin but solid. The LEDs are very bright without being too bright and seem to point exactly where they should be pointing.
Very nice product but not fancy. Does just what I need it to do.
