I was looking for a sturdy Chess set with some nice quality pieces/board for a good price, and was not let down. I would definitely buy this again and would recommend it to a friend or family member. The pieces are nice and solid, and the board is as well, it definitely doesn't feel cheap.

I bought this as a Christmas present. I opened this wood game set to inspect it, and it seems to be of very good quality, and is very attractive. The only addition I would like to see would be to have fabric pouches to house the game pieces. I highly recommend it!

This is the first large chess set I've ever owned, but looks beautiful and feels durable. The wood is gorgeous, magnets keep the set folded neatly and hermetically, and overall it just is obviously a good quality product.
You won't go wrong with this set!
Only recommendation: get a pouch to carry the pieces around, otherwise the backgammon/pieces will probably wear prematurely, not to mention the noise they will make. I use -clean- socks and it works just fine :-)

Quality is quite good -- better than expected. Pieces are well-shaped and nice weight. One of the checkers is of different thickness, but all others are well made.

I bought this set as a gift for my son. The chess board is excellent, and the game pieces are high quality. However, it wasn't until we got down to actually playing a game of chess that we realized there were two brown queens, and no king. I called Amazon, and they did not have any of this same item in stock, at the time. They ended up giving me a credit to purchase another set, or just new chess pieces. I ordered a different set, and received it within a couple of days. It wasn't as nice as this one, but I was able to switch out the pieces. I just appreciated being given an alternative to sending back the original set, because I really like the design of the board, for a travel set.
