I like to tell people I am in my second childhood, I may be an adult but I still love to color! I was so pleased with the smooth way these pencils laid down the bright shiny colors. I only have 2 suggestions to make them perfect: 1)instead of just 8 shades, I wish they made 16 or even 24, and 2)I have become so spoiled with the 'Twistable Pencils' that I wish these metalic came in the Twistable style. I have enjoyed them so much I am ready to order more. More for me, more for my (adult) daughters, and more for all my friends who color!

My daughter loves to color and draw. She has a large variety of colored pencils but when I saw these I realized she does not have any metallic ones yet, so I got her this set with a Dover 'patterns' coloring book. Crayola is always a nice brand for colored pencils. I have tried other brands from the dollar store and cheap brands in other stores and they just don't color very smoothly. These metallics are like all Crayola pencils - they give a nice easy, smooth glide when coloring and blending. Using the metallics all on their own looks really cool, but it also is nice to use them along with other regular color pencils for a nice effect. Whether a kid having fun coloring, or an older art student, Crayola is a nice brand to choose.

I cannot say more than the most favorable review of this product has already said. The only bad thing is that they still after so many years only have 8 colors available. COME ON CRAYOLA, give us 16, I'd be happy with just 8 more. A box of 24 and I'd dance a little jig.

I found these pencils at my local Walmart, and I was super happy, but I decided to test them before I bought them. These pencils are extremely shiny, so that is wonderful, but I found that the colors looked muddy, they all had a gray quality to them. I don't know if it was just that batch of pencils, but I think the gray was the metallic pigment that wasn't mixed well enough into the colors. Even the gold had gray mixed in. So in the end, I did not buy them.

I was expecting more of a metallic shimmer with these pencils, but there was very little shimmer or metallic appearance when using these pencils for coloring and drawing on basic paper. I'll try different types of paper I guess, but so far not very impressed.
