 Works Great; Locking Connector; Noise During SyncMar 09, 2011

I'm using this with a Verizon iPhone 4. Does a great job. The video out feature is very limited, because each program has to specifically enable it. I use it for Netflix, and it works great. Just a few things to note:
1) The cable will work for charging and syncing. While charging, there's no noise. When syncing, though, the USB part of the cable induces some noise into the audio output. For how inexpensive this cable is, I can't complain. Just something to be aware of. Under normal use (charging only) it's perfect.
2) The connector on this thing locks. There are two tiny buttons on the sides of the iPhone connector that you have to push in to remove it from the iPhone/iPod. It's easy to overlook them... until the connector won't come back out. I use my cable for routine charging and don't like for it to lock -- so I put a small nylon zip tie around the connector, which holds the buttons in all the time and disables the locking feature. Works for me.
Good cable. Great value for what you get -- a cable where genuine Apple costs twice as much ... and you get a USB charging adapter, too!

My son has an Ipod touch and this was just what we needed to watch netflix and movies downloaded on the unit on a bigger screen! Just connect all cables and watch!

Although this item states that it plays Netflix and works with the iPhone 3GS, it does not. It will play video from the 3GS either over YouTube or through the iPhone's onboard video player but IT WILL NOT STREAM NETFLIX. Called customer support and they said it "should" work since I have IOS 5.1. It worked fine on my wife's iPhone 4 so I believe this is an overstatement of the device's capabilities made by the manufacturer rather than the device being damaged. Tried on 2 3GSs and neither worked. Had audio but no video from Netflix but it worked fine with the 4.

First, although it's not advertised, this does work fine with an iPhone 4. The video quality is excellent, and I don't hear any bleed-through on the sound while charging. I haven't tried it while syncing through the USB connector, and frankly I don't know why I would ever do that.
As other users have pointed out, individual programs have to enable the video out. I use it for videos stored on the phone, Netflix, and when I'm at home, it allows me to watch my shared video library on any television in the house.
When I'm traveling, most hotel TV's have AV inputs, so this is an excellent alternative to overpriced and limited on-demand movies.

Bought two of this product to connect all "i" devices (Pod, Phone & Pad) as input to TV or stereo. Functions great around home and perfect to bring along when traveling.
