works but don't expect miraclesDec 30, 2007
By C. D. Hardison Bought a TV Ears and discovered that it wouldn't work with my LCD TV. So found the Clarity after considerable search. The descriptions sounded so good I got one for myself, and one for my father-in-law. We both have the hearing loss problem best characterized by being unable to understand the words even when the volume is up. The tone controls on this unit help a little, but it's still a problem with clarity. If you're looking for the clarity of a digital phone, my "Clarity" doesn't provide it. If you want a unit that lets you turn up the sound in your ears without blasting the family with volume increase at the TV set, this is a winner. And yes, this one works with LCD big screens!

By Eric Sandbagger Using this unit, I need not raise the volume of LCD HDTV set to compensate for the slight loss of my high-frequency hearing abilities. It worked fine for about 4 months, then suddenly stopped working. Every time I put on the headset, it worked for a few seconds and then quit. I almost gave up using this product, but a careful re-reading of the (well-written) User Guide led to the solution of my problem.
After each use, I used to drop the headset gingerly (ever so lightly!) into the base. That was a mistake! The small metal contacts on the bottom of the battery installed in the bottom of the headset were not making a firm contact with the two small metal points protruding from the bottom of the pit of the base. Therefore, the battery installed in the headset was not being charged. I managed to reestablish the contact by gently pressing the top of the headset downward. "An LED light will illuminate on the front of the C120 base to confirm the charging has begun," says the User Guide.
There are 9 small red LED lights in front of the base. Eight of them, except the one in the middle, are lit when power is supplied to the base. The 9th light, the center one, illuminates only when the headset battery is in contact with the charger. So, when you drop the headset into the base, make sure the center LED light is on.
With the exception of this nuisance experience, I have been totally satisfied with this product.

Best one on the marketMar 31, 2008
By The Butcher I got this for my Father for when he comes over. He used to come over to stay with us which was great until we had to watch TV. We thought we were at a rock concert. He has a similar head set at home but I wasn't impressed. Worked ok but never really got the sound of the head set to work for when you turned it up the sound was distorted so was looking for a better quality head set and found it.
This one is hooked up directly to our Plasma TV. It comes with several cords to work with depending on your desired need. I don't need it for this but is nice because you can connect your phone line to it for in coming call notification. Come with an extra battery and has ability to allow for a 3rd battery (1 in head set and 2 slots on base for charging). This head set also can be used for any outdoor events that broadcast on a hearing impaired system and works great for my father. If the head set isn't being worn it turns itself off automatically so not to wear out the battery. The unit is supposed to be line of site to the base but I have it tucked back a under our 42" plasma and still works fine and is clear sound that my father likes. A must have for the person that wants to hear everything but not disturb the neighbors try to listen to things. Can even have the sound turned all the way down on sound system and allows the listener to control head set volume with no problem.

Clarity TV AmplifierMay 26, 2009
By KB This product is far superior to the TV Ears which lasted only about 4 weeks. The Clarity Wireless TV Amplifier is made better, the sound is clear without interference, better fit, and much more comfortable on the ears and cost less. TV Ears were too tight and actually hurt with no way to adjust them. The Clarity Amplifier can be personally adjusted to accommodate a person's individual hearing loss from ear to ear. I would definitely recommend Clarity Wireless TV Amplifiers to others.

By M. Graham I wanted to hear the TV without blasting my wife out of the room...she really appreciates this product. Volume control is independent, and there are controls for balance and limited bass/treble. It also limits the volume of commercials. All in all a nice product for the hard of hearing. It even comes with a second battery that charges simultaneously. It isn't built for rough usage, and while light weight, you notice it, but this works for me. With a discounted price on Amazon, very affordable too.
