5Great Quality Circle CutterMar 03, 2011
By Aunt Jane
Just got mine and I love it. Have a couple other circle cutters that work okay, but this one is beautifully designed. It is easy to control the paper, so no slippage and wasted paper. The grid also allows cutting perfect half circles. I recommend going to the internet and watching a video on its proper usage. Very helpful. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

5Life SaverDec 06, 2011
By Morgan.G.
I recently purchased this item when I needed to cut over 250 circles in order to make Christmas ornaments. This item was a complete life saver for me, allowing me to cut all my circles in about an hour. The main reason I chose this item was because of the price. I looked at a few others, however they were either more than I wanted to spend or had poor reviews. The value of this circle cutter seems hard to beat.

Few things to note:
- You'll need a cutting mat of some sort in order to protect the surface under the paper which you are cutting. I sew so I have a bunch of self-healing cutting mats and used one of those. They worked fine but I noticed in a video on how to use this cutter on YouTube and they used a tempered glass cutting board. I feel like this would probably be better and if I were to use it heavily again like I just did I would probably purchase one.
-It cuts well, but you have to make sure you have a decent amount of pressure as you turn the blade. Don't expect to just push down enough to expose the blade and end up with a cut circle. I do wish there was some sort of extension to the top so you could push down more with your whole hand and not just your fingers, it get's a little tiring when you're on circle 179.
- I wish there was a way to lock the blade into one slot so you wouldn't have to place it (almost) every time. But the average user of this isn't probably cutting a ton of the same size at once like I was. The measurement markings can be hard to see on darker and busy paper, so I used a dry-erase marker to mark above and below the slot I wanted to use so I didn't have to carefully study it every time.
- I found it really helpful to use painters tape (or masking tape would work too) to secure the paper onto the mat, especially when working with smaller sheets (less than a 8.5x11 or 12x12).

Overall this is a great product and I would certainly recommend it to a friend.

5Accurate circle cutterJun 13, 2011
By Cynthia Gey
Love this item. I actually bought my circle cutter 2 days ago from Michael's craft store. I originally bought the Scissors Plus, the pink circle cutter, and then returned it yesterday for the Scissors Pro. The Scissors Plus had a dial like winding mechanism that I thought would be accurate but when I looked at it carefully, the mechanism moved 1/16 inch when I was testing it so that would have made my circle shift when cutting. I used my Scissors Pro today for the first time and love the cutting accuracy. I also purchased a glass mat with my cutter and the cutter doesn't slide around on the mat. I put down removable adhesive onto the center section of the glass mat to keep my paper from shifting, but the the circle cutter stays put. This circle cutter takes the place of buying circle punches bigger than 1 inch. Should have bought it sooner.

5The Very BestJun 24, 2011

Having spent quite a lot of money in the past, trying to find a piece of equipment that cuts circles cleanly and easily, now I have this Circle Scissor I will never have to waste money again. This Circle Cutter cuts easily with a clean edge, and the number of sizes that can be cut with it makes it a winner as far as I am concerned. Out performs all other circle cutters by a long mile.

2Problematic ToolApr 05, 2012

I've never written a review for anything before, but I feel compelled to do so regarding the EK Success Circle Scissor Pro because I based my purchase on all of its glowing reviews here on Amazon and my experience with it was altogether different. I am a design student, so perhaps my needs from the thing are different than other reviewers' (perhaps they use thinner paper than a standard matte photo paper), but regardless, it failed to deliver. Initially, I attempted to use the circle scissor on top of a regular self-healing mat, one that I use for all other cutting projects I have to do. However, the blade of the EK Success Scissor kept getting stuck in the mat and made for some seriously uneven circle edges. I then re-read some of its reviews and watched a tutorial video on how to use it properly, and discovered that you are meant to use it on a glass cutting mat. I didn't have one of those, so I went to my school store and grudgingly purchased a glass painting palette for this purpose (I figure they're close enough... the only thing glass cutting mats have that palettes don't are grid lines, so far as I can tell) for $20. I took it home and tried using the circle cutter on it, and it definitely cut more smoothly. I figured that it would finally work correctly but didn't want to take any chances, so I taped down my paper that I was cutting and then taped the circle cutter to it so that it had no chance of moving and screwing up the circle's edge. But no matter what, the blade somehow moves during the course of cutting a circle so that if you cut past your starting point (it's really difficult not to do that because you can't really see where your blade is as you're cutting), you end up cutting into your circle at a slight angle, creating the beginning of a spiral. I cut altogether 9 circles out of a print for an assignment and out of those nine, only two were acceptable enough to use them in my final piece (and even now I'm really hoping my teacher does not notice the slight wiggle around the circle's circumference). I tried using the tool to cut smaller circles on different kinds of paper just to test it out, and it seems to do best at smaller circle sizes (I needed to cut 4" circles for my assignment) on thin computer paper. Just wanted to offer my experience with the EK Success Circle Scissor Pro as an alternate to all of those more positive than mine.
