Weingard's TR-1518 Carryout Tripod Mount for the GM-1518 Carryout Automatic Portable Satellite TV Antenna needs some more thought. It does what it's supposed to do, and levels nicely. But that's about it. With such a cool product to support, one might think that a bit more would have gone into the design. For instance, how about a fold down for the legs? It is necessary to remove push-pins and completely disassemble the unit in order to store it away in a compact manner. This leaves you with a base, three legs, three pins, and some springy tie down/bungee stuff, without a bag or case other than the original box. Yes, the length of the legs with another sliding inside, make folding an impossibility. However why not 2 or three lengths to span the same distance? (similar to a tripod) no trouble there.

I had just purchased the new Dish Tailgater and was looking for some kind of way to keep it off the ground when i saw this. I noticed in other descriptions that this would also work with the VuQube. After a lot of searching with no answer if this would fit my Dish Tailgater i figured with Amazons return policy i would be able to return it. I was not disappointed it does work just fine. This stand is a well made product for what it is made for. When you are packing and unpacking for camping trips this is a lot of parts to keep up with. Like other reviewers it does need to have folding legs. With folding legs i would give it 5 stars. I did some research of this product over the weekend and as it turned out Winegard says it is Compatible with VuQube® portable satellite TV antennas.
VuQube® is a product of King Controls which also makes the Dish Tailgater. As it turned out the Tailgater is just a remake of the VuQube. Just thought this might be helpful.

Nice stand for the Winegard carryout satellite receiver. I think it is over priced for what you are getting but you should have something under the satellite dish to level it and get it off the ground. Maybe the campground picnic table would work as well.

This is a very compatible stand for the dish. It is very steady and the spring and stake make it very stable. It would be better if it folded into a smaller package for easier storage. I would continue to recommend this product!
