Nice scale, accurate up to it's max weight for onceJan 20, 2011

A lot of scales out there claim to weigh up to 400 lb or so. The problem is that a lot of them are wildly inaccurate when you get close to the max weight. I bought a different scale off of amazon and, even though the display went that high, I would get results all over the map. This one is nice and stable even for a big guy like me (390 lb)
The reason I went to this scale was that it was the same scale my doctor had in his exam room. I assumed, at first, that it was probably some special unit that doctors order from a medical supply catalog. After a few crappy scales and getting sick of going to the local pharmacy to weigh myself, I decided to call my doctor's office and get the scale's model number. Lo and behold, it costs as much as the scales I found in the store. It's awesome.
If you're trying to lose weight, the best thing you can do for yourself is to chart your progress and goals. Make sense of the small changes you make and what they can mean for your health if you stick with it. All that starts with an accurate scale.

Don't waste your time and your money by buying this scale!Jun 30, 2011
By ERIC D. HENDERSON I bought this scale from Bath, Bed, and Beyond and I had it for almost a month. It was a bit inconsistent, but that was ok, it gave me a general idea of how much I weighed and I really liked this scale compared to others I had bought. However, a day ago, the LCD wouldn't turn off. So, I replaced the battery and when I initialized it, the LCD still would not turn off and now the scale is stuck on 5.4lbs and that's where it's been for the last day or so, with the LCD still on as I write this review. Also, the features on the side of the scale stopped working, not that I ever used them. Either way, it was a bad buy and it's going back today. It's been about 30 days, so I hope I can get my money back. Don't waste your time and money by buying this scale. Look elsewhere!

Not Even Close...May 17, 2011

I agree about the fluctuating weights... I don't like this scale for that reason. You weigh 3 different times in a row, and you get 3 different results. Also if you have balance issues like I do and you can't stand really still for short periods of time, the scale takes forever to calculate your weight. I would not recommend this scale to anyone. I wish I could return mine.

Great scale - elegant, user-friendly, accurateNov 10, 2010
By saldridge I just bought this scale, and I love it. I do not use any of the "advanced" features, I really just care for my weight. Our old scale was still OK, but had gotten a little grimy in the humid environment of the bathroom and being close to the floor in a household with cats. The old one had some sort of inlays (for body fat measurement) in the platform, and it was getting increasingly difficult to clean. My Pros: - The platform is all one piece of glass, very solid feel and even for the heavier, it is not that weird feeling of stepping on a piece of glass because it has the gray backing. The one-piece construction will also make it real easy to clean. - When I bought the scale, I put it side by side with the old scale and they were both the same. I believe our old one was very accurate from a few doctor's visits where I weighed in similar (hard to tell since you wear clothes etc.) - I can step on it 10 times in a row and I get pretty much the exact same weight every single time (maybe one outlier in the 0.2 pound range).
I have a couple of cons, but they are minor: - I wish it had a backlight (not really a con, just a feature I'd like) - The "step on" technology doesn't work 1 in 10 times, and you have to get off and on again.
Otherwise, I love it and I highly recommend it as an easy to use, clean looking, elegant scale.
Comment for the previous review: Now, the weight display behavior is normal for a digital scale, and my old scale did exactly the same. It always goes up and down a little before it pinpoints the exact weight. THERE IS NO "BIGGEST LOSER" FAKE OUT EFFECT - this is just what all digital scales have done in my life so far.

Product work greatJul 28, 2011
By PeterB I am a big person, so I need a scale that won't moan and tell me to please get off me, when I weigh myself. This scale works great and is very accurate every time I weigh myself.
