Great table clock replacementMar 20, 2008

This unit has all the functionality that anyone can ask - but it is nothing close to a replacement for home theater or audio. It's bluetooth capability allows me to use its built in speakerphone with my cell so I need not hold a phone and can talk and listen through the unit itself. It has a great SD card input (supports up to 2GB, SDHC cards need not apply), and has a sleek CD loader. Aside from the USB port, I cannot name any other benefits.
In terms of sound, it is adequate, a lot better than my old clock radio. However, there is no bass! But for someone who uses it primarily for news radio or easy listening in my room, this is the perfect device because it doesn't rock the neighbors out of bed. The quality is more than adequate for my uses, but does not work well for people who use this as their only music listening device (although the unit is quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be ... I thought it would fill up my whole night stand, but only takes 1/4 of the space).
The interface is absolutely horrible though. The remote control is difficult to figure out and has functions that are not available on the unit itself. If you lose the remote, you lose the ability to do many things, including setting the clock!! Really lame on that. And to boot, the bluetooth light blinks incessantly when not connected. I don't look at the unit all the time, but can clearly see the blue bliking light.
But don't get me wrong, I really like this unit for my purposes (clock radio, CD player, alarm clock, cell phone speakerphone). It looks great, but in terms of function, does not justify the price. If you can get this product for $120, that'd be more right than the near $200.

Feature-richApr 07, 2011

It's true, the V1BLUE is not a viable replacement for a home audio system. And yes, it's true, the ease of use on this thing is pretty bad. But the iSymphony V1BLUE is an excellent option for a smaller space. I've had one in my kitchen for a year and just bought a second for my office.
The sound is totally decent for a small tabletop stereo. When we're cranking it in the kitchen, it is loud enough to hear throughout the [2100 square foot] house. And in my office, listening to CNBC over XM through my Droid, the voices are clear.
The real strength of this unit is its adaptability. The ability to pair with a bluetooth phone is hard to come by in a unit this cheap. And it's great that it reads USB drives as well. I've never used several of the features, such as the iPod base & SD card reader -- but it's cool that the options are there.
At the $300 MSRP, I might expect more, especially in the user interface. But for under $100, the shortcomings become "character" and the V1BLUE is a steal.
Pretty SweetJan 05, 2012
By Tsteve All I can really say, is this thing is pretty cool. Not really loud, but loud enough to enjoy. The only bad part, is the oddly designed remote, with hard to read buttons, that are not laid out in a normal way. So you have to look at it, and search for buttons, every time you want to do something. Other than that, every part works well, including the card reader, usb reader, and bluetooth

Do not buy from Worldwide DistributorsApr 06, 2008

I never recieved this product b/c the seller, Worldwide Distributor took over 2 weeks to deliver. Their explantion was that the UPS label they created was rejected by the shipper, knowing that, they did not notify the buyer even though it was past the expected deliver date. When I spoke with the seller, he could not come up with a solution to the issue b/c he didnt even know where the shipment was??? But the only thing he was concerned about was that the buyer does not provide a bad comment for him. Unltimately, when they had located the package, it was over 3 weeks, which being frustrated and very past due, I canceled the order.
This may or may not be a bad review, but definetly an honest one. I do not recommend any type of business with Worldwide Distributors unless you would like slow, incompetant, and poor customer service.
