Nice device for the priceNov 09, 2006

This has excellent digital sound for the price. I was surprised at how much better it made my CD's sound compared to my other player that had cost $30. It isn't as sensitive to motion as I thought it would be on mass transit and rarely skips. I wish I could have been given the option to choose a color - I was sent the silver one. It seems to have a smaller headset connection so my older headset doesn't work in it, but I don't mind the headset that comes with it. I am pleased with this purchase.

Only took two weeks to fall apart...Mar 25, 2007
By StarOnTheRise I would not recommend this product to anyone. My son
received this cd player for his 10th birthday as a
replacement for an old one. Within two weeks the head-
phones quit working. The unit skips with the slightest
movement, making it no fun and unusable to my son. If
you can believe it, the old cd player is actually more
usuable than this almost brand new Coby cd player. : (

Really Bad CD Player, Really BadMar 31, 2009

"E-Zilla"
Over the years I have become something of a portable CD-player connoisseur. Indeed, I have many leather-bound portable CD-players in my portable CD-player library. jk. I have, however, bought units from Sony, Panasonic, Philips, and now Coby. The others worked fine, channeled my music through my Sony MDR-XD100 headphones at a high quality. But recently I broke two of my players, so it was time to look for a newer, less expensive machine. The price of the Coby player is what attracted me to it. I thought, wow, for twelve dollars and the price of shipping I could have a new, black portable player. And I was right! But I was also extraordinarily disappointed. First of all, one touch, or even the remote thought of a touch, will interrupt your disc for a second or two, at least. Second of all - one touch, or even the remote thought of a touch will interrupt your music! That should be nuff said. Other defects, or shortcomings, include the ancient format of the Play/Stop/Forward/Rewind buttons. They're so big and inconvenient! Anyway, without becoming too upset I would warn you not to buy a CD player from Coby! Or anything else from a company that sells rubbish products like this!

The first disappointing COBY product...Jan 11, 2007
By Robert Resnick I've always liked Coby products, but this one deserves no stars at all. This cd player is very inexpensive, and it only runs on batteries. It does not have an anti-skip feature, and it is extremely light sensitive. In order to have continuous play, it must be shielded from any environmental electrical current, sunlight, lamp, light fixture, flash, beam and ambient lighting. I recently bought three of the players (at that price, I figured I'd have a backup once I dropped it a few times), and I've completely "used up" two players. Each one completely died from less than 2 weeks of use. It seems the abuse of using the player in a lit environment ruins the electronic mechanism!
