4WALL MOUNT ONLYFeb 21, 2011
By Kathleen Shaffer
This is a beautiful seat belt, once I figured that you need to have it perfectly vertical to release the belt from the nice retractor. However, it does not fit all types of vehicles, as described. I needed a retracting seat belt to fit INSIDE the door of my 1993 Toyota Corolla. This one is for the exterior wall of the vehicle, not the interior of the door, behind the panel. The buckle part of the belt is also much too long. To get this to fit, I would have needed to cut off the metal brace of the old retractor and bolt it to the new one after drilling a hole in it. (I suppose it would work with a dremel steel metal bit.) I would have also had to drill a hole in the car center mount to bolt it there, lowering the latch to not stick way up past the person's lap. Amazon was extremely good about refunding the complete amount, including shipping! They're great sellers!

Don't be fooled like I was by the picture, it's only one seat belt. Guess I should have read the fine print.

1Does not fit 1991 Jeep Wrangler as advertised.May 04, 2012
By Tom Schultz
I bought this seat belt to replace worn ones on my 1991 Jeep Wrangler. The Amazon site said that this would fit my model but it doesn't. I would need to fabricate a custom bracket to make this work and then it may not be safe and would look like a hack. I am sending it back for a refund.

4Good value. Keep trying; they're not broken.Nov 04, 2013
By Beaucephalus
Good value, and fit my '94 Toyota truck just fine. Like other (more impatient) reviewers, neither of my belts seemed to want to uncoil at all upon unpacking them. After resisting the temptation to remove the side caps that say "DO NOT REMOVE" and fiddle with the spring mechanisms' innards I just kept trying for a few minutes and they worked themselves out. Now they're installed and have both been working fine. Hints: 1) remember pull very slowly 2) try different orientations (before you install them) and pull from different directions 3) shake and wiggle generously.

Things the manual doesn't tell you:

- the receiving end (the part that comes up through the seat) actually come encased a rather stiff plastic, which may be awkward in certain installations.

- the receiving end mount looks like you need to drill through plastic, but you don't. Just push the circular cap out from the underside.

- the cover for the roll (not the side/spring cap) has two Torx (star) screws. Doh! (fwiw, taking this off didn't seem to fix the apparent uncoiling problem. )
