5Very Permanent Adhesive which is SUPER Easy to Use!Oct 25, 2010
By Megan Ann
I was soooo resistant to getting the Yellow or Red ATG, first because of the size, second because of the price. All of my scrapping friends assured me that the size was not a problem and swore by this adhesive and dispenser. So, when the Pink ATG came out, and was available on a deal of the day site for a great price, I decided that it was finally time to try it out (I mean you can't pass up a good deal right?). It was a little awkward at first, getting used to the size, but that only took one scrapping session to get used to. What I initially disliked, but now LOVE is that the adhesive is VERY, VERY PERMANENT!!!!! I MEAN PERMANENT. Once you adhere 2 surfaces together, they are not coming apart! However, if you put the adhesive down but DO NOT adhere another surface to the surface you originally put the adhesive on, you can roll it off, like a snot ball. So there is an opportunity to remove the adhesive if you put it down in the wrong place as long as you do not adhere anything to it. The adhesive also lasts a REALLY long time, so you are not constantly buying adhesive! It is a big bang for your buck!

5Why did I wait so long??Jan 07, 2011

This is a great tape gun. I wish I had purchased one of these long ago... it would have saved me from much frustration. Inserting the tape can be a bit confusing so I went to YouTube to watch a video on how to insert the tape. That made it so much easier.

A nice "trick" to using this tape gun is to not lift the tape gun staight up when your done. This can lead to the tape clumping up a little or extending over the edge of your project. Instead, continue to move the tape gun horizontally towards you for a few inches after you release the trigger. This gives a much nicer result. (I hope that made sense)

5Best craft adhesive...Nov 09, 2010
By Daisy's Human "Bookaholic"
I am a scrapbooker, collage artist, card maker. I own two xyrons, a glue glider, and have been through practically every adhesive item (zots, fiskars glue dots, double sided tapes, adhesive sheets, etc) before Scotch came out with this very reasonably priced, excellent product. The only thing that sort of scared me was loading and winding the thing, and after watching demonstrations of how to do just that on youtube, I was able to do it with ease. This is the longest lasting, most effective, easy to use adhesive out there. Compared to Tombos and the like, it lasts forever!!! It can't do things like cricut cut delicate lettering, but that isn't what it was made to do. The adhesive itself is not as strong as the glue glider, but I went through three glue glider cartridges that all jammed up after just a few uses. You can't beat the ATG as far as cost.

4A less expensive adhesive applierJan 26, 2011
By Talvi
This one is half the price of the more common ATG so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't know if I'd like using a big adhesive applier after only using the small disposable adhesive appliers in my scrapbooking. However, I've loved it since it arrived, here's why:

1) You would think it's going to be too heavy, but it's not. It's very comfortable to use. Setup was easy with the diagrams they gave.
2) The tape itself is very tacky, but comes off very easily if you make a mistake, and allows you to reposition your piece.
3) There's a good amount of tape on the reel so you can do a lot before you have to change it.

Three challenges:

1) The roller is very wide, so you have to take care to position the tape closely to the edge of your work (in scrapbooking pictures and mats, it looks terrible if you have corners sticking up). Because it's a little challenging to see, you have to take more care that you don't go off the item you're taping. But again, if you do, it's easy to just roll your fingers over the glue and it rolls right up.
2) Sometimes the adhesive doesn't come off well and it leaves a trail of the adhesive leading back to the strip above. I have to manually grab it and move it down to the item I'm glueing.
3) It's a bit of a challenge to find adhesive refills without paying a lot for shipping.
