a very sturdy, well made, and battle ready katar. I have collected edged weapons from all eras for twenty and more years and I am well pleased with the quality and constuction of this weapon.

The primary interest for me was that I play assassin class in games, which uses katars a lot. I got interested in them through that and found them neat. I finally wanted one, to my surprise they were there. I put it on my Christmas list sometime during summer when this was the only option, however there are others now about the same price. I'm reviewing this at the price of 25 dollars, so I can't tell you if it's worth MORE than that.
It's sturdy for sure. The first thing I did was anihalate the box (safely). Then I tried it on wood. I thought the tip would break off or something, but it proved sturdy. It does not wobble, or break after repeated uses in case you weren't just looking for something to display.
If you're interested in cosplay, obviously you couldn't take it anywhere. It still makes good for a costume as it resembles the basic design for a katar, as well as the basic katar used in several games.
The only down side is that mine is in need of sharpening in some areas, and polishing for sure. It's got a lot of imperfections in its shine. The sheathe is not put together great, but it serves the real purpose of allowing you to carry or store it without cutting something. I've sheathed and unsheathed mine about 100 times just for fun, so the sheathe at least holds up.
Remember, it's meant for puncturing and not cutting. You'll get the best out of it if you use a punching motion, not a slicing motion.
