As always mcafee anti virus protects my computer very well. I have been using it for years and see no issues with it so far and of course amazon sells them for great price.

 Inadequate support and excessive popupsApr 01, 2012

This came pre-installed on my system that I use for software development and test. I do not allow automatic updates of any program for various reasons and only perform manual updates. After disabling automatic updates for McAfee I would start seeing popups telling me that I was out of date and an update had not been done recently. This appears to occur on roughly five day intervals. After going through McAfee's very poor support, who kept on wanting to access my machine after repeating several times "No", I gave up and decided to remove McAfee and move to another company's product. Much like Norton, McAfee appears to have lost sight of the user that desires flexibility over a one size fits all solution (not that I think manual updates is all that rare of a desire).
Update: I have since received a phone call from McAfee stating this is working as designed. Too bad this couldn't have been stated an hour earlier by the first level support person. Anyway it just confirms my decision to remove McAfee.

BEWARE! I purchased my McAfee AntiVirus Plus 2012 from AMAZON. I have been using McAfee for the last three years with no problems. This year my purchase is defective. The registration number (Product Key) is not associated with the country and language, therefore, I am unable install the product. I tried to installed by CD and Web installation without success.

I installed.. My internet will not work. So I tried uninstalling and installing another virus scan sofware, but mcafee overwrote my cdrom drive driver and I could not install another virus software.
Shame on Mcafee (Intel). Releasing this piece of junk. I got this for free from ATT. So shame on them continuing to provide this to customers when it does more harm than good.

This was a trial version of the software. When I purchased it, it did not say anywhere that it was a trial version.
