Hard to beat for the priceMay 18, 2012
By A. Nieves I don't have any knocks against this system and honestly for the price it can't be beaten. I had wired mines to have a fuel cut off, Back up battery, and mini piezo siren in the car. I had installed a trigger under the hood that had successively alerted me of intrusion twice. Acura Integra's are easy to pop the hood and my alarm did it's duty perfectly. The alarm defended my car and alerted me while I was asleep so it more then payed for itself. Let me get to the small gripes that I do have, I can't say for certain because I had modified the alarm's antenna to be under my headliner and maybe the sun heated it up too much and made it unresponsive but twice my alarm would not respond to the pagers and after much panic and unsuccessful bypass attempts I was able to shut the alarm up. I wish the siren was louder and that the brain was more responsive, I do not like that the acknowledgment chirp would be delayed for about a second and the light visual a second after that. Best bang for your buck and will protect your property but if you can afford it their are more quality systems out their.
Good features for good price but cheap remote.Apr 11, 2012
By anek Install was simple and easy. It has a kill starter but you need to buy a relay to make the kill starter feature work. So far so good wait the alarm there hasn't been any issues. The remote is a different story. The remote is very flimsy and cheap. The plastic feels very thin on both remotes. The 2 way remote broke the first day. I dropped my keys with the remote attached 3 feet off the ground and there is a interal crack on the screen and there is black ink splatter everywhere. I previous own viper alarms in the past and they are made with hard durable plastic and took a beating and never had an issue with the LCD screen. Even the current cheap viper alarm feels solid. I have a very good feeling the crimestopper remotes won't last too long. Replacement is $50 which I won't spend. I don't recommend this alarm due to the remote. Spend the extra $20 and get the viper.
