5Very useful, great constructionJan 04, 2003
By L. J Young "young11860"
When I purchased my daughter a keyboard for Christmas, this stand was included. I must admit that I was very skeptical at first about a stand that was included with the product, but I am very happy.

It is very sturdy, easy to use and folds for storage or transport. The legs scissor, so the height can be adjusted for basically any type of seating you use - we have used it from kitchen chair to bar stool height. When not in use, you can collapse the legs together for easier storage, the width is about 4" when closed.

The only downside to the product, and I am not sure it is a problem with the product or with keyboards, is that there is no mechanism to firmly attach the keyboard to the stand. The keyboard just sits on top of the stand, and can easily be bumped off. I am sure that a way to attach the keyboard could be found, however I would not recommend this stand to a household with small children or for a household where the keyboard will be placed in a high traffic area.

1Very unstable stand !!!Jul 27, 2003
By Vladimir Hristov
I bought this stand for a Yamaha PSR-8000 keyboard.
I don't know is it me who put a keyboard too heavy or it is Yamaha that produce keyboard stands for the keyboards they produce too and the stands are not strong enough to support them but the stand is shaking all over while playing the keyboard.
When I press a key on the left or the right side there is a spring effect and the keyboard starts shaking badly.
I'm sure one day it will fall down if I am not very carefull in controlling this problem.
But what should one do, concentrate on the music or concentrate on the stability of the keyboard which stands on a very weak stand ???
Anyway, next time I'll know I won't buy a keyboard stand with such a design as that one.

I purchased the Yamaha PSR-290AD 61 Note keyboard. Although the keyboard will sit on this stand it is not very stable. I am sending it back. I now have a Yamaha L3C stand. Much better.

1Doesn't Fit KeyboardFeb 26, 2003
By Deborah J. Connors
Very disappointed that this item was recommended for use with Yamaha Keyboard PSR-170 and it doesn't fit! The arms are longer than the interface slots and they don't line up width-wise to fit on any of the 6 height adjustments. My son now has a keyboard that he has to play on the kitchen table because we can't trust it not to fall off the stand!

3Is this a Yamaha stand?Jan 10, 2004
By A valued customer
...it doesn't appear to be. It seems to be a generic universal keyboard stand. It therefore doesn't fit securely. The Yamaha PSR-290 has molded indentations in the bottom that the stand should fit into, but they don't. Although the stand is sturdy, the keyboard just sits loosely on top could easily fall off and crash to the floor if bumped by a child.

Also, like others who have wirtten reviews, I thought the bolts were missing when I began assembly. They provide an Allen wrench in a little plastic bag and you expect the bolts to be there too, but they are screwed deeply into the legs and hard to see - the instructions should note this.
