The price you pay for a pretty faceOct 10, 2010
By NLee the Engineer Before you buy this Sandisk 4GB SDHC for Nintendo DSi, please consider the following facts:
1. You don't really need a SD card to play the Nintendo DSi or DSi XL. The DSi comes with 256MB internal memory, of which about 128MB can be used for photo files and downloaded DSiWare programs. The external memory card is only necessary when: - You want to backup photos files from your DSi to your computer, or - You want to play music files on you DSi, or - You downloaded too many DSiWare programs, and need to off-load some to make room for system memory.
2. There are no special requirements for the external memory card. Any regular SD or SDHC card can be used, regardless of its capacity and speed rating. Note that the photo files of DSi are very tiny (typically under 100KB), so even a 2GB SD card can store something like 20,000 photos. Also you'll not see any speed difference whether you're using 'class-2' or 'class-10' card, because the Nintendo system memory is the bottleneck.
For about half the price, you can get a similar memory card (such as the Kingston 4 GB Class 4 SDHC or SanDisk 4 GB Class 2 SDHC). Alternatively, you can pay similar price and get a card with twice the capacity instead. So it is hard to justify paying a premium for this product.
Unless, of course, you really like the pretty "Nintendo DSi" logo printed on this card

ripoff!Jan 27, 2010
By Thief Raccoon
"Thief Raccoon"
this functions as it should. but this is a rip off! they just slap on a Nintendo DSi sticker on a class2 (which is the slowest out of class2,4,and 6. With class 6 being the fastest) SDHC card.
for this price, you can buy an 8gb class2 SDHC card. (this is listed as $18.64 at the time of my writing this)

Just buy a different (and faster) SDHC cardFeb 06, 2011
By JCS As another reviewer said, this is basically a class 2 SDHC with a Nintendo sticker. It was highly overpriced at the time I got it, and even now it's probably still expensive compared to an equivalent SDHC without the official sticker.
I only bought this because I was in a hurry placing an order for my DSi, and I supposed it would need some kind of particular SDHC (not standard) knowing how consoles are sometimes. My recommendation: just buy any brand at a lower price and higher specs and it will work the same.
As a side note, I don't use my DSi as a music player or as a camera (which are only for fun and not particularly good). I've only bought 6 DSiWare games so far (Just in case: DSiWare is Nintendo's digital download service for the DSi) since I basically buy cartridge games, and I haven't even used a byte of my SDHC. The Nintendo DSi has 256 MB of internal flash and DSiWare games are so tiny you can probably store a dozen... and I believe there are maybe a dozen DSiWare games worth buying. In case you are wondering, 256 MB (*8 = 2 Gigabits) is twice the capacity of a DS game cartridge.
Rounding up, an SDHC isn't *necessary* for a DSi if you're using it for what it is: playing games. You may use one if you will be storing pictures and music, but just get yourself another one.

San Disk a Win..againFeb 18, 2011
By Barbara Joy Landis I use San Disk for everything for all my USB memory sticks and SD type cards. I have not had any problems with the product. I keep the card in the case when I'm not using it to avoid dirt affecting the performance.
