Solid, just not very comfortableMar 29, 2011

I grabbed this because it was the cheaper of the two available 3DS grip products. Unfortunately, it really isn't what I was hoping for. I like the comfort of the grips of most console controllers from the past decade, but this doesn't replicate it. The lumps on each side are wider, shallower, and at lesser angles than the grips of console controllers. Trying to hold it like a console controller fails and ends up with my hand feeling even more cramped. It is possible to find a looser hold that isn't uncomfortable--but at that point it's not any better than holding the system without the grip, either.
As a stand, it works fine. I'm not sure how often I'll need such a thing, but there it is. System is easy enough to attach and unattach, without feeling like it will fall out when you don't want it to. Doesn't add a lot of weight or bulk. Affordable. The pieces are mostly there for a solid product, so I'm not trashing it too harshly with a low number of stars. I just don't find it comfortable, and without that the rest doesn't matter much.

Comfortable grip, questionable storage.Apr 24, 2011
By Trevor Wiant I have no complaints about the grip itself. It offers good support and has totally eliminated the cramping I was getting in my wrists. It's comfortable, lightweight, portable, and very easy to remove from the 3DS unit. It fastens securely and never feels like it's going to fall off. The stand works as it should and I'm glad I have it for when the 3DS gets Netflix. I do have one small complaint though. It seems silly to me that it would have a storage space for an SD card rather than a 3DS game card. Since I only use one SD card it's pretty useless for me. While not a huge inconvenience, it seems like a pretty big oversight, especially considering that I usually carry multiple game cards and an extra storage space would be very convenient. Besides, if I really needed to bring an extra SD card with me, but the only available slot held a 3DS cartridge, wouldn't it be pretty easy to just stick the SD card in there? SD cards are smaller in all three dimensions... Anyways, I am very happy with my purchase (great price, by the way) and I highly suggest it to anybody considering buying it.

Very happy with this item!Jul 11, 2011
By I. Rodriguez I jumped on this only after seeing the curteous response from the company explaining why/how they designed this product. I'm happy to say that it works great... it fits snug with your 3DS and at no time do you feel it will fall or come off. There are no moving parts aside from the kick stand (love that btw). It feels great and natural to hold... making the 3DS much more tolerable to hold for long sessions.
There really isnt anything bad to say about this grip. I suppose if I HAD to come up with one, I'd say that its much easier to snap the 3DS into it than it is to remove it. Its a comfortable snug fit but can feel tricky to get off. This didnt bother me as it means its holding the 3DS properly but could be an issue if you plan to insert and remove your 3DS from it often.
Would definitely recommend this grip!

Works wellApr 04, 2011
By Emirp I got this item to relieve the cramps in my hands from playing too long. Here is a short summary of my impressions:
-3DS pops in and out pretty easily. -Plastic looks and feels well built. -I have medium sized, male hands and these grips fit me perfectly. -Feels similar to the xbox 360 controller so it's very comfortable.
Overall I am satisfied with the product and believe it will help the cramps!
Only suggestion I have is to offer different colors for the inevitable new color releases of the 3DS.

A decent hand grip for your 3DSMar 30, 2011

I too picked this up along with my 3DS mostly because of it's very reasonable $10 price and it was only one of the two 3DS hand grip accessories available at launch. I'd still recommend it as an initial purchase and admittedly it's not the best, most comfortable grip (as compared to some others I've purchased for my other handheld, the PSP 3000) but certainly a sturdy and very decent one considering the low price.
If I had a recommendation for future iterations it'd be to make a grip that's bigger and wider, designed for users with larger hands. The 3DS, much like the original DS, seems to have been designed for those with small hands and for someone like myself it often causes uncomfortable cramping, even if playing for a short period of time. I'm hoping that Nintendo will eventually release a larger 3DS model with bigger screens, as they did with the DSi XL. For me the XL was a fantastic improvement, both for the expanded viewing area and the much more comfortable ergonomic design.
In conclusion I would tell others wanting a serviceable and inexpensive 3DS hand grip to buy it, at least until more possibly superior (and hopefully bigger) ones come along.
P.S. I've decided to go ahead and also purchase the DreamGear Nintendo 3DS Comfort Grip - Transparent Black to try it out and see if it's more preferable for me.
