Best mini keyboard I've ever usedDec 24, 2011
By Dave Hayden The size is perfect, just fits into my laptop bag. The small keys are a little cramped, but having the extra half octave compared to the 25-key mini keyboard makes a huge difference--it's just big enough to play with both hands. The velocity tracking is great, much better than I expected from a $70 keyboard. I also didn't expect I'd be able to run it directly off the iPad via Apple's Camera Connection Kit, no external power supply needed. I spent an hour messing around with it in Garage Band and it only used about 10% of the iPad's battery. (The CCK doesn't work with the iPhone, unfortunately.) Seems like this will be perfect for passing the time on flights.
The only complaint I have about the keyboard is the mini USB connector isn't tight enough, and wiggles free too easily. It's only a small annoyance--the keyboard boots up in an instant--and it's likely possible you could bend the connector a bit to get a tighter fit, if that's a problem.

Quality, minimal and affordableOct 13, 2011
By Jeffrey Lyon I used to think that I could never live with a miniature keyboard, but I was pleasantly surprised with this product and decided to keep it. I have limited desk space and needed a portable keyboard, and this product works well. The keys have a surprisingly high quality feel to them despite being miniature, and it's great having more than the 25 keys you'd find in most small keyboards. If you're on the fence about miniature keys, think of it this way: you're not going to be playing piano concertos on any portable keyboard, whether it has 25 full-sized keys or 32 miniature keys. Either way your keyboard is mainly going to be useful for one-handed bass / lead lines or triggering drum samples. For these uses, the extra keys can be useful.
Aside from the keybed, the knob feels solid and is easily mapped in Ableton Live. You can actually get around the fact that this keyboard doesn't have a modulation wheel if you map the knob properly. The octave up / down buttons have LEDs in them which respond differently depending on which octave the keyboard is mapped to. It's a nice touch and decently useful. I would have preferred to see a pitch bend joystick in place of the three buttons for pitch up, modulation and pitch down. Really it doesn't feel right pushing buttons for these functions and they just don't seem useful like this. I have not played around with adjusting the velocity response or any other of the on-board parameters.
This keyboard is deceptively small and fits comfortably in a messenger bag designed for a 15" laptop.
Overall, this is a solid product at a reasonable price. I took one star off due to the pitch bend buttons, but I really have no other complaints with this board.

Flimsy USB ConnectorApr 25, 2012
By Agunwa Alugbue It would be a perfect compact mobile controller if not for the flimsy USB connector(where you plug the USB cable on the device). Mine broke after 2 weeks. Therefore it doesn't get power. I wasn't careless with it anyhow. The connection is just not solid as it should be considering that this devie was meant to be mobile. Don't buy this unless you will be exteremely careful with the USB connector! Or better never unplug the USB cable. I gave it 2 stars not because it is bad overall, but because it is as good as a wood if it won't get power.

M-Audio Keystation Mini 32Mar 12, 2012

"Musique Factory"
This is a perfect tool if you are a composer on the road. works perfect with any laptop Mac or PC. It's a Plug & Play Tool.
It's a little hard to get used to the size of the keyboards, specially if you are used to work on bigger keyboars as 66 or 88 and you have to press a little more than a regular keyboard, buy less than those weighetd keys keyboards. Once you get used to it, which for me took like 3 days, it's a very cool gadget.
Octave shifters work very good, but once in a while you have to do a hard reset, because it stops working... It doesn't happen that much, but is more frequent than one would expect.
Sibelius First Software bundled with it, adds a lot of latency on any computer with an i3 or equivalent and below, any above processor works fine.
I bought this with Magix Music Production, which is super easy to use and has some nice effects. Works best with Cubase.
After trying this for 2 months, I bought one for my mom, and she uses it as her primary composing tool... I have to say that she has no experience in any DAW software and it's easy for her also.

Good buyOct 07, 2011
By Greg S. Padilla The keys were a little smaller than I expected, and the pitch bend lacks a true analog feel. That aside, the device does exactly what I'd hoped of a MIDI controller. I'm very pleased with my M-Audio Keystation Mini 32.
