All weather is the key!Apr 16, 2010
By T. Bair This duct tape is the only one to consider in my opinion for any task that will be exposed to the sun and rain, or other extreme conditions. It uses real rubber and is perfect for keeping the sun or bright light off of whatever you cover with it.
I used this tape to cover up some storage totes to make light-tight hydroponic growing boxes. Light in the root-zone means unhealthy plants, so it's critical to block all the light. This tape does the job without degrading or failing if it gets too hot or wet in my basement vegetable garden.
The real deal!

Not nearly as good as Gorilla TapeMay 14, 2011
By Nathan Beauchamp
"ConsumerAdvocate"
The church that I work for uses a fair amount of tape to put up signage at the school where we have our services. We need tape that affixes to mixed surfaces like brick walls and sandstone pillars. We've used this tape as well as Gorilla Tape , and I thought it might be useful to compare the two for potential purchases.
Scotch's Heavy Duty duct tape is not nearly as heavy duty as Gorilla tape. It is thinner, less sticky, and not nearly a durable. In every way Gorilla tape comes out ahead in our applications. The only real advantage to Scotch's tape is that there is more of it per roll, and so it's about 20% cheaper than Gorilla tape. For some jobs, it probably doesn't matter which tape you use, so cheaper comes out ahead--but when you're trying to affix 30x40 foamboard signs to a brick wall, Gorilla tape is the clear winner.

Best Duck tape everJan 19, 2011
By Amelia D. Backus I have a cover over the back of my truck. It started to rip last year. I used duck tape ( not this one) and it did not last long weather got to it I think. This All weather duct tape has been on there twice as long as the other stuff. No sign of it falling apart o losing its bond to the cover.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it IS broke, fix it with this great duct tape!!!Apr 16, 2011
By Mike Durfee I 100% totally agree with T.Bair's review!!! Why mess around with mid grade adhesives when All Weather cuts to the chase with maximum sticking power! Great for fixing things instead of having to buy new, which is the name of the game in this economy! I've used this to fix everything from a rain boot with hole in the heel area (saved me from having to give my boot "the boot." LOL!!!) to a cardboard moving box that had just about gotten worn out from two back to back moves. Hey, wasn't expecting to move but my relationship hit a rough patch and had to sofa surf for a month before getting settled in my new studio apartment. You know what they say! This is how LIFE IS! Unfortunately a relationship can not be fixed with duct tape. You have to talk it out! I'm willing but very hard to get ex on phone these days. So I moved out and had to pack and repack a few times. Used the 3M 2245 Heavy Duty All-weather Duct Tape to fix a U-haul box that was just about to give up the ghost. NOT SO FAST!!! This duct tape made the box BETTER than new and got me into my current living situation. Think I may be here awhile. Maybe when/IF Suzanne and I get back together I can put some of this tape over my mouth so I don't say something idiotic to get kicked out again. WHATEVER! She eats tons and tons of Pringles and then complains about her weight. I was JUST BEING HONEST!

Tape colorMar 16, 2011
By Hatcole Description did not list color of tape. The tape is gray in color. Most outdoor duct tape is black. Because you normally use outdoor duct tape to wrap insulation on copper lines to your outdoor a/c unit. The insualtion is black and black tape blends in better. I would not of purchased this tape had I know it was gray.
