Worth The MoneyJul 23, 2010

Installing the alarm system is simple. You just have to plan out what features you want to install. Use Relays!! Read! Read! Read! If you don't have a wiring diagram for your vehical, get one. Guessing can be Very Costly. Have it installed. Well worth the money.

ExcellentNov 30, 2010
By Potter I am generally very pleased with this product. I am no mechanic, but I have done various types of wiring on a car (stereo, fog lights, subwoofers, rewiring of OEM systems, etc.). This was obviously more in depth than any normal stereo installations. For me, the installation took a little longer than expected (7-8 hours). This was due in part to various distractions, lack of proper tools to dissemble/reassemble my vehicle's dash and other components, and time spent researching some wiring diagrams for my '96 Jeep Cherokee. Once installed, however, this product works amazingly (as one would expect for a system that originally costs $270). It starts the engine up without any overstart/grinding and kills the engine quickly when asked to. The siren is fairly audible and the system outputs to the horn when the alarm is triggered for that extra attention. I would definitely recommend getting all relevant wiring diagrams for your vehicle and necessary tools together before starting the installation process.
To any of you Jeep Cherokee owners reading this, if your Cherokee is equipped with factory keyless entry (as was mine), you have a POSITIVE triggered locking system, so you'll need to obtain a couple of relays and relay holders and wire accordingly, tieing into the Orange/Purple (LOCK) wire and Pink/Purple (UNLOCK) wire located in the Red Connector under the driver-side kick-panel. Here's a direct link to the .pdf file I pulled this information from. [...]

Great product!!!Jan 23, 2011
By Nicholas J. Macchia The Crimestopper SP-400 Alarm with Remote Start and Keyless entry system is a great product. I am extremely satisfied with the performance and quality of the product. It would be difficult to install if you do not have any electrical experience in the Automotive field. If you do not have any experience, I would suggest to get it installed by a professional. I am a Auto mechanic, so I have access to vehicle wiring diagrams. I wish they had a more detailed wiring diagram with the product, the basics are there, but if you are not familiar with the vehicle you are wiring, it will be difficult. But, I am very satisfied with the finished product installed, it also came at a great price. I would definitely recommend this product to others. Thank You, Crimestopper.

Good unit, difficult to installDec 18, 2011
By Justin I bought this as a present for my sister-in-law for her 2002 Ford Escape. I read a lot of the reviews about this and a lot of people claimed that this was a hard unit to install especially if you do not possess electronics knowledge, THEY ARE RIGHT!! I consider myself to have a good understanding of the electronics of vehicles, but the installation instructions for this product are horrible! I eventually had to take her Escape to a local stereo store who specializes in remote starts and they completed the installation.
The unit works good and the remotes are very nice. My sister-in-law has been using this system almost every morning this winter and loves the remote start!!
