WorksSep 03, 2009
By O I have a pole with a hook to hold bird feeders and it is the type that sticks in the ground. Squirrels and chip monks constanly get up and eat the seeds in the bird feeder. The baffle comes with a bracket, like a collar that is attched on the pole, and it is fixed in place by tightening the screw. The split in the baffle makes it convenient to put on. It then can be closed by hooking the ends together [they come with fold shape like a "U"]. Best to keep up the baffle as high off the ground as possible because the squirrels can jump up at leat 3 feet I think. I use this in combination with the supposedly squirrel proof feeders and works effectively, especially with the red squirrel. They are small and very smart. Also, make sure to keep the feeders away from other pole feeders and trees. Those squirrels are very determined and can jump fairly far. For the money, this is one of the most effective anti-squirrel guard. Highly recommended.

Effective squirrel baffleMar 22, 2008
By Donald C. Schlegel The "Audubon" Squirrel Baffle 18" Wrap has worked very well. Earlier plastic varieties which I have had worked well for a while but then the squirrels chewed through them and were eventually able to get around them. I have seen the squirrels test this baffle with their teeth but finding it to be a heavy metal they just gave up. The baffle is easy to put on a pole and does the job. Don Schlegel

Exactly what I needed!Feb 10, 2008
By N. Yashinsky I have purchased this type of baffle in the past, but our local stores only carry the cheap plastic ones of late. I have never had a problem with this type of baffle and thus far, this baffle is working just as well as the three other baffles I currently own.
This baffle was easy to install and is quite effective as keeping the squirrels away from the feeders. My highest recommendation!

Very Good Squirrel Deterent but!!!Aug 14, 2010
By Pickelw This wrap around squirrel baffle works extremely well. However the powder coating wears away in just a few weeks and then rust starts to appear.
I had a baffle deployed for about six weeks. I noticed that the bird droppings no longer washed away in our daily showers in Florida. I took some automotive soap and washed the baffle. The soap started to turn a dark color as the powder coating washed away. I also noticed a small amount of rust along the seam where the baffle is hooked together.
I washed the baffle thoroughly and dried it well. I then applied two coats of high gloss black rustoleum. The baffle looks better than brand new. This glossy surface will help to deflect bird droppings, make it extra slick for squirrels trying to grab hold of the edge and will not rust.
The baffle also needs to be placed far enough from trees, bushes, etc.. to prevent the squirrels from jumping over it to the feeder. If you do this, squirrels do not stand a chance!
I do love the baffle and would have given it a five star rating except for the powder coating finish. I even ordered three more squirrel baffles.

SQUIRREL PROBLEMSJul 26, 2008
By Wayne D THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT. IT IS HEAVY GUAGE METAL, THAT NOTHING CAN GET PAST, AND IS VERY EASY TO INSTALL. I NOW HAVE TWO. THEY PROTECT MY SATILITE DISHES, WHITCH ARE ON POLES. BEFORE THEM; A SQUIRREL ATE THE PLASTIC OFF OF ONE OF THE PICKUPS IN ONE OF THE DISHES. $80.00 LATER AND 6 DAYS WITH NO SERVICE,I ORDERED MY FIRST BAFFLE. ONE POLE WAS TOO BIG FOR THE BAFFLE, BUT THE BAFFLE CAN BE EASILY CUT WITH TIN SNIPS TO MAKE THE HOLE BIG ENOUGH. HIGHLY RECCOMEND. WAYNE D.
