dont do itDec 30, 2011
By Belinda Bailey I needed a electric skillet and was at Target this was pretty much the best thing they had going. I made fried chicken in it the first use and that went ok, I would have liked better heat but it got the job done. I then made fried potatoes skillet and noticed some sticking of the food. This morning I made my third dish another skillet and used fried sausage lots of grease and still I had my food stick as if there was no non stick surface. I also agree with the other comment here that the heat distribution is not good. Im looking to buy a new pan today on Amazon. One thing I do like about this pan is that the pan lifts off the base so you can serve in it or take it to someone house if you wanted to.

This is not a "frying" panDec 25, 2011
By Sarge The product description is completely inadequate and leaves out some essential information that you learn after you use this skillet, or if you read the directions first! This product isn't for even shallow frying - they tell you to use no more than 1 cup of oil. You're supposed to preheat the skillet for 10-15 minutes before using. The indicator light stays on as long as the skillet is plugged in, so there is no indicator to tell you that you've reached the desired temperature - but that's okay because you never will. Since you can't use a deep fat frying thermometer when you're only shallow frying, you have no clue what the temperature of the oil or skillet surface is unless you're experienced enough to know other ways of testing for readiness - like a drop of water bouncing on the surface, or a bread cube browning in a short period of time. In short, maybe this skillet will work as a griddle or a saute pan, though other reviewers don't seem to think so, but it is NOT a frying pan. Mine goes back to Target tomorrow after one attempt to use it.

Pure JunkSep 28, 2011
By Michael L Cobban I recently purchased this skillet from Target. I am totally unsatisfied with the quality and operation of this skillet. I am a semi-professional cook being retired now and i thought this would be a very good and easy to clean skillet. Boy was I wrong about it being good. First of all the pan is made of such light-weight material that it doesn't hold what little heat the elements give it. Second, the manufacturing process is very poor, the center of the pan bulges up so that any liquids such as pancakes, eggs, run to the sides and the center never gets hot enough to cook properly. I e-mailed Oster and did not get any reply other than the automated reply. I would not give this skillet to my worst enemy.

Horrible!Aug 07, 2011
By F. Cage This is the worst product I can ever recall buying. It is not non stick. Pretty much everything sticks. Anything you put made of liquid like pancakes rolls to the edges where it sticks even worse. This happens because the center of the pan is higher than the center. This company has no quality control. No one their right mind would think this is designed correctly. Buy the Presto brand instead.

HorribleMar 06, 2011
By Janice Good Don't buy. Uneven cooking because the heating element circles the center area and not at all around the perimeter. Even worse is the low heat effect even when turning to the highest possible setting. Used once for bacon and pancakes and the bacon had to be cooked at 400 degrees, 250 degrees in old skillet, and the pancakes stuck no matter how much oil I used. It's going back to the store after just one use. BEWARE!!
