After hours searching on the internet for a small 12-16 bottle wine cooler that would fit on our kitchen counter, and after hours of reading other peoples' reviews on many types of coolers, I realized that no two people were ever going to like the same product. Everyone disliked something about every model I searched. So, completely exasperated, I finally landed on this model. I recognized the Emerson brand (for music equipment) and, with no other reviews pending, I just decided to take the plunge! It arrived in a very timely manner (about 4 days). It is sleek looking and blends nicely in our black and stainless kitchen. It holds bottles comfortably (although I haven't tried oversize bottles in it yet, but I'm confident they will fit on the bottom shelf. The cooler's fan only runs when it is cooling to it's lowest temperature of 54 degrees. The fan noise (which seemed to be a big complaint in other reviews) was very soft, almost unnoticeable. After it reaches it's goal temp, the fan shuts off. Also, although manufactures often recommended 5 inches of open space on all sides, we only have about 3 inches of space on the back and one side (open to the other two sides) and it seems to cool just fine. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase -- a birthday present for my husband. And he loves it too! A great purchase for us casual wine drinkers.

We have had this unit for 5 months & we have absolutely no complaints. Quiet & reliable. I would buy another if I needed one.

The temperature needs to go below 52 degrees I mean I'm no wine expert but when i take a drink I would like it to not taste like room temp.
