Big Speakers, Big Sound!Jan 29, 2009
By G. Kistler My small book shelf Infinty speakers were just not giving me the bass I so desired so I went back to my roots to look for BIG speakers! My receiver is an older Onkyo with no input for a woofer, hence my bass problem. I use to have these big paramount speakers that worked great with my receiver but after the divorce, my ex got them so my search was on.
I happened across these Cerwin Vegas. Big and solid with good weight. Sitting on a carpeted floor with four big dogs in the house, I needed weight! The long and short of it is, yes, I am rockin again just like the old days. Great price, free shipping, bangin speakers. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Great SpeakersDec 02, 2008
By DanM I ordered a pair of the VE-12's based on the specifications available at the Cerwin Vega web site and at Amazon. I am not in any way disappointed. They sound great at low volume or loud, playing rock, jazz, or classical. The bass really comes out, but not in an overwhelming way. Overall the sound quality is balanced and very pleasing. I would recommend these speakers to anyone would enjoys listening to music, and wants speakers that can play it as it was meant to be heard!

Great speakers. Great bass.Dec 12, 2008
By D. Hentze I've had these speakers for a couple of years now, and they rock. I use them in my basement, hooked up to an older Onkyo 100 watt receiver, and they sound awesome. They deliver excellent highs, and outstanding bass. I listen to all types of music. These are the best 2 channel speakers I've ever had, and I've had speakers that cost 3 times as much. They're a great value now for under $200.

Woah .... LOOKOUT :)Feb 01, 2010

I was over at my friends and he has the ancient cerwin vegas 12's (4 way speakers) on his system and its very loud. I had been toying with floor / tower speakers for a while now and there are a few options.
My system is like this in a 20x20 room: Yamaha RV-1105 receiver 1 JBL center 2 1 klipsch c1 center 2 polk 10 inch subwoofers 2 cerwin vegas 12's on the front A side 2 jbl tlx 151s on the front B side 2 jbl tlx 121 on the rear channel
Low budget system that gets very loud :)
The first night I got these speakers I cranked them up and made my ears ring for 2 days. So I believe these speakers are not for everyone, they can definitely hurt you and your friends :)
I got a digital sound level meter and had the pussycat dolls on the palladium channel cranked up about 50 % on volume and it registered 102db. Then I put in a Journey DVD and cranked it up to 2pm on the dial and it registered at 105db. I had earplugs in for both of these. Because after the first night of jamming out on these speakers, I was afraid to turn them back up. No doubt in my mind that it will go louder if needed.
Its a different kind of sound as well. Like being at the concert. You can feel the sound hitting your body. The difference between these and other floor standing / tower speakers is that you can sing thru these, like karaoke, they are that heavy duty enough ... Perfect for the home entertainment karaoke system in the living room and very affordable. These speakers look great as well. Much better looking than the models from 20+ years ago.
For home theater usage, its not a problem. The 12 inch woofers going to help you feel those machine guns shooting off :) Its when you turn these speakers up that they stand out and carve a niche right into your ear that no other speakers can hehehe.
But these are true concert floor standing loudspeakers that also look nice.

Cerwin Vega the best money can buy.May 18, 2010

Cerwin's have been around since the 50's and they have perfected the balance needed in a speaker so you get just the right amount highs, not to much mids, and just a truckload of thumping balanced bass. I have owned CW speakers now for over 10 years and just got the VE-12'2 to upgrade from an older model. And boy am I glad I got these. AT half volume it is clear and the bass shakes your insides. Just a perfect speaker. highly recommended!!
